Alden R. Carter Alden R. Carter

Last updated on: January 28, 2009

Most writers choose to write in only one genre: some specialize in novels, some nonfiction, others poetry or drama. Although Alden Carter is known best for his novels for young adults, this versatile author from Wisconsin has published twenty nonfiction books, most of them histories, as well as short stories, a play, and picture books for young readers, including one with his daughter, Siri, who was eight at the time. His novels for teens, too, tackle a variety of topics, including farm life, alcoholism, backwoods adventure/survival, historical fiction, baseball, and serious illness. Alden Carter and his family live in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
