Last updated on: February 9, 2010

Because of that, teenagers who visit the library in Aspen Hill, Maryland, where she works keep a close eye on her at all times. As a librarian and a reviewer of books, she knows what kids like to read. And adults as well as teen readers of her haunting and well-written novels are quickly caught up in the conflicts that her strong-willed female characters face.
