E. R. Frank
Last updated on: August 1, 2007
E.R. Frank's first novel was chosen by YALSA as one of the ten best books of the year for reluctant young adult readers, and her second novel was one of the ten best books of the year for all young adult readers, as well as a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize, earning her a valued place at the top of the field in which hundreds of books are published each year. Critics have called her work "piercing," "powerful," "moving," and "amazing." To that we can add "risk-taking," for she does not settle for writing the ordinary. Nor does she choose to write about safe subjects. Her works are memorable because of her characters' painful situations that reflect the real-life problems she has encountered in her job as a social worker. And there's so much more to this fascinating author, as you will see in the following interview.
