James Howe James Howe

Last updated on: May 3, 2010

Although James Howe is best known for his very entertaining books about a vampire rabbit named Bunnicula as well as the Pinky and Rex beginning reader series, he has also written and edited several highly regarded books for young adults, including The Watcher, The Misfits and Totally Joe. Although eliciting laughter is one of his writing goals, he has not been afraid to look at the darker sides of teenage life and to encourage other writers--in The Color of Absence and 13--to examine pain and loss, but in all cases to offer readers hope for a brighter future.
