With a background in photography, filmmaking, animation, and film editing, Sonya Sones took one class in poetry writing that sent her on a new direction in life. Her honest, touching, funny, passionate, and tender poems have made her one of the most recognized writers of novels in verse for teenagers. Each of her books has received heaps of honors, including the Christopher Award, the Myra Cohn Livingston Poetry Award, and teen book awards from Michigan, New Hampshire, Iowa, and Rhode Island.
