I could not help but comment on this database. We subscribe to it here and it is a wonderful resource! And really inexpensive. I enjoy just browsing through it, but it is also great for students doing research on teen authors.... It is really worth a look if you have not checked it out.

The interviews with the authors are very thorough. I like that Gallo asks about how the authors write, how they get ideas for their books, what their daily routine is, etc. The interviews would be a great resource for students who are seeking biographical information. I also liked how pictures of the authors are incorporated in the interviews. They look/seem just like normal people. Several links included on the site were new and of interest to me such as Amazon.com for Teens, AuthorChats.com, and Booklists for Young Adults.

Wow! I was very impressed with this sight. I wish I had known about or had access to it last year. I had some students who were hooked on certain authors. We could have learned so much and had a blast connecting to all of those links. I enjoyed the up to date lists and current information. What a resource!

The teachers at my school would love to know about this. I am really concerned with my upper grades and I want to make sure I meet their needs in the library as well as the little ones. . . . This will be a great way to expand on what I have already read and learned and take it a step farther. I am so happy that I had the exposure to Authors4Teens.com.

I had looked at this site when I was in YA and thought it was great. . . . I also clicked on several authors . . . and was surprised to find out Virginia Euwer Wolff is caucasian since her books are written about young blacks living in the inner city and she writes it so realistically that you would think she had grown up there. I was also surprised the author Annette Klaus not only writes about werewolves and vampires but is a school librarian . . . maybe there is hope for some of us to write that novel yet! This site would be useful to teachers, students and librarians as it as something for everybody.

I really enjoyed reading some of the author interviews and looking at their web pages. But, I really liked looking at all the different links provided by this site. Some of them I was familiar with but their were some new ones. It's great when someone else has done the weeding out process for you.

I was also impressed with the social studies book list and Teri's Corner because of the hints about new trends and suggested reading.

One of the links I enjoyed looking over was Jon Sciezka's GUYS READ! site I think this is an interesting issue and I'm glad to see an author so involved in helping boys to succeed (especially as the mother of two teenage sons).

Authors4Teens is an awesome website!!

The site is very authoritative, from its author's credentials to its personal, one-on-one interviews with YA authors. There is an absolute wealth of information on the author's private life and professional accomplishments.

Teri's Corner is also a great site for up-to-date information on the authors. Teachers and librarians will especially like the latest information on award winners and BOOKTALKS!! The information on upcoming author conferences is helpful, too.

The discussion board is a great way for teachers and librarians who are out of the classroom (like us) to talk to other professionals about the latest books.

The SEARCH option is a great idea for making past information available to readers.

Another very helpful option is the LINKS. The amount of links is phenomenal!! Teachers and librarians will really enjoy this when looking for reviews, magazines and professional journals, and professional organizations.

Teachers can refer students to this website for author studies. Students can find out everything they want to know about their favorite author and when his/her next title is coming out.

Overall, this website is worth the subscription price and a great resource for those in the YA literature field.
